How to set the Stacruiser-5000 in software upgrade mode.

This software is for the StarCruiser 5000 Beir Nabala model only. Do not attempt to download into the Satcruiser models.  You must first download the communication program stblink4.exe. This program will be used to
download the new software to your StarCruiser 5000 model receiver as follows:

• Connect the COM port (COM1 or COM2) between your PC and the RS232 using a null modem cable
• Turn the power on the StarCruiser 5000. Front Panel LED light should be RED.
• Run the STBLINK4.EXE program
• Click on SETUP COMM button to select COM port.  You should see the message "Connecting". If you do not see it select a different comport. Change the comport between COM1 and COM2 until you see the message "Connecting".  You may need to turn the power of the receiver on then off again.
• Click on "Upgrade Software" button in the STBLINK4 program.  A browse window will appear, select the program file "dsr5000_3.97_up.bin which you just downloaded.
• The software will start downloading into your receiver, you will see the message "Connection complete" when done downloading
• During the upgrade process you will see the following displayed on the receiver's front panel d.000 ->d.001, after the software is downloaded the receiver will start displaying F000 -> F100 -> GOOD will be displayed as the last step.  DO NOT turn the power off or unplug the cable while the front panel is displaying F000 -> F100, you must wait until you see the message GOOD or FAIL
• Your software upgrade is now complete.

Copy Software from StarCruiser 5000 to StarCruiser 5000

This is how to copy the software from between two StarCruiser 5000 receivers

• Connect the two receivers using a null modem cable
• Power the Master receiver on first
• Power the slave receiver (to be upgraded)
• When the "d.000" is displayed on the front panel of the slave receiver then the connection is successful. The software from the master receiver is being downloaded into the slave receiver.  When the downloaded is complete, the message "GOOD" will be displayed on the front panel of the slave receiver.
• If the d.000 message is not displayed when you turn the power on the slave receiver then turn the power off and turn it on again until you see the d.000 on the front panel.
• If you wish to download the software into other receivers, all you have to do is to connect the null modem to the next receiver to be upgraded and turn its power on.  There is no need to do anything with the master receiver.
